The new Bangladesh coach Rubcic arrives

Dhaka, Sep 08: Robert Rubcic, the newly appointed BFF head of coaching has arrived in the capital this morning to take charge of the national side ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.

The 46-year old Croat has already completed online agreement with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for one year and expects to see his side 20 to 30 steps up in the FIFA world ranking after the estimated time.

He attained in a press meet at 11am in the morning and will visit the national football camp at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan afternoon.

“I am feeling very honored to be appointed as the Head of Coaching. It’s not a very easy task to guide a national squad. I will give my best and your co-operation will do the rest,” said an inflicted Rubcic as he is suffering from jetlag after a twenty four hour journey.

Rubcic's first assignment with the national squad is set to be the Asian Games which will be held in China in November. Besides, he is expected to lead the side in the Olympic pre-qualifiers, the AFC Challenge Cup and the FIFA World Cup pre-qualifiers.

The UEFA pro-licensed coach last worked with famous Croatian club HNK Rijeka. He played for Croatian national team once and for the world star XI twice.

BFF’s vice president Badal Roy, executive committee member Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu and general secretary Al Musabbir Sadi were laso present in the press briefing.
