Dhaka, Sep 22: Two first half goals by Rinaroy Devi and Jabamani Soren one apiece, brought India their first victory in AFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2011 Qualifiers against Jordan here at Birsreshta Shahid Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur today.
India dominated the field from the very beginning and they missed a couple of chances before Rinaroy finally breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute from a Nimalhamu Bhutia cross.

Jabamani doubled the lead in the 25th minute. Rojina Khatun floated a Kamala Devi initiated corner from the middle of the penalty zone. Jabamnai tapped in to confirm the goal.
Last match’s Jordanian hat-trick star Shahnaz Yaseen got her rival goalkeeper Swarnamayee Samal in an one on one situation in the 59th minute but Swarnamayee squandered Shahnaz’s opportunity with an advancing effort.

India got some good chances in the second half as well.  A twenty yarder by Jabamani rattled on the crosspiece in 71st minute. Rinaroy attempted the rebound but it was direct to the Jordanian custodian Tareiza Hakam.

This loss made the journey harder for the Jordanians. Their coach Maher Lutfi Abdullah said, “We were in the game for first twenty minutes but two easy goals took the match away from us. However, we still have chance. The Bangladesh’s match against Iran is very important. I hope Iran would not be able to score a lot in the match.”

Indian coach Sukla Dutta said, “I was very confident to win the match as we defeated Jordan 3 – 0 last year. I am expecting to be successful in the next match also. Our main challenge was language. We have players from different states. So, there was a communication gap in the first match. Now we have almost overcome the difficulty.”

India lost their first match 4 - 2 against Iran.
