Dhaka, Sep 22: Bangladeshi girls created strong resistance to keep Iran away from scoring till 44th minute of their second match against powerhouse Iran although they lost the match 6 - 0 in AFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2011 Qualifiers at Birsreshta Shahid Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur today.

Bangladesh got a golden opportunity in the 19th minute while Mirona penetrated in Iranian danger zone and passed her teammate Sabina Khatun. Sabina’s shot on empty post was not quick enough to reach the target as visiting goalie Maryam Yektaei cancelled it diving left.
Iran’s forward Seyedeh Tanin started scoring capitalizing a Maryam Rahimi forward pass inside the penalty area in the minute before the breather.

The second goal came from a penalty for Iran just two minutes after the half time break. Referee awarded the spot kick as Bangladesh skipper Maynu Marma pulled down her counterpart Zahra Ghanbari down in the penalty area. Zahra herself took the penalty shot to double the lead.
Last match’s treble hero Farhadikhah Parvin scored in the 50th minute to take the score out of Bangladeshi’s reach. Farhadikha’s on-song captain Zahra helped the scoring providing a nice cross pass.
The bad-luck continued for the Bangladeshi’s as a Tahmina shot on target from Sabina’s threw pass struck the crossbar in the 54th minute.

The Tannin-Parvin partnership is remarkable throughout tournament. They exhibited their understanding again when a Parvin shot on target was fisted by Bangladeshi custodian Sabina Akter. Tanin netted the returning ball with a gentle header in the 60th minute (4 – 0).

Tanin saw her partner Parvin scoring a treble in the last appearance and now it was her turn to fulfill the quota of three. Tanin headed home the fifth for her team and the third for herself when a Maryam Rahimi shot reflected on the cross bar in the 73rd minute.

The final one came from skipper Zahra's boot again. She disturbed the backside net with a long range shot from just inside the penalty area in the 86th minute.

Bangladeshi coach Mahmud Alam Babu said, “We started well but could not retain the performance till the end. The result could be different if we could utilize the early chances.”

Iranian coach Amirshaghaghi Mahnaz is very delighted. “They (Bangladesh) played better than us in the first half but we had certain tactics which we could apply in the second part. We wish to finish the round unbeaten,” Amirshaghaghi reamarked.
