Danone Nations Cup champions are flying-off tomorrow

Dhaka, Sep 28: The champions of Danone Nations Cup’s last two editions, Khulna District team (Champion 2009) and Tangail District team (Champion 2010) will leave tomorrow for South Africa to attain in the tournament proper.
It was a dream come true for the kids below 12 years from remote villages who became the Grameen Danone Nation Cup champions to earn the right to join 44 more countries in the Danone Nations Cup finals in Pretoria and Johannesburg from October to October 2nd.
The teams will start from Bangladesh tomorrow morning and they will return on 5th October.

Last year’s winners Khulna are accompanying this year’s title holder Tangail as the event supposed to be held in Brazil in 2009 was postponed due to a swine flu outbreak.

BFF’s vice president Kazi Nabil Ahmed emphasized the enjoyment of the participating children. He said, “We have to make sure that the players get a healthy environment and they enjoy the festival so that they become interested to the game. The result is not significant here but our goal is to create the enthusiasm among the young booters as they are the future prospect of countries football.

BFF’s executive committee member Sheikh Mohammed Aslam, General Secretary Al Musabbir Sadi and Grameen Danone nations’ cup acceleration unit’s executive Marion were also present.
