DCC will sponsor pioneer league

Dhaka, Oct 31: The Dhaka City Corporation today signed a ten-year contract with Bangladesh Football Federation to sponsor the Pioneer Football League.

The DCC will give Tk 25 lakh for the first year and increase the amount by ten per cent every year during the contract period for the juvenile competition, still regarded as the breeding tournament in Dhaka’s football.

In a contract-signing ceremony at the BFF House today, Dhaka City Mayor Sadek Hossain said, “DCC has sponsored the Pioneer League twice earlier. Recreation is a citizens right for the children. This way our next generation footballers will emerge as well.”                                                           

BFF president Kazi Md. Salahuddin expressed his satisfaction over the contract in his short speech. “I am very happy as DCC has taken the initiatives to sponsor city’s preliminary league. This level plays a significant role to produce future booters. We will start the competition very soon,” remarked Kazi Salahuddin.

Dhaka Metropolitan Football League Committee chairman and BFF member Harunur Rashid and CEO of DCC Abul Kalam Azad signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

The Pioneer League of this season is expected to kick off in November.
