Dhaka, Nov 07: Bangladesh could not deter an irrepressible Uzbekistan from scoring as the red and green’s lost their first match of Asian Games 2010 against Uzbekistan 3-0, at Yingdong Stadium, Guanjhou today.

Bangladesh was very defensive from the very beginning of the match but one long range angular shot by Uzbek striker Turaev Kenja from outside the penalty zone brought the lead for his side in the 23rd minute.

The lead was doubled by Ahmedov Odil in the 42rd minute from a Pirimov Zohir cross.

Bangladesh’s dependable custodian Aminul, who were out of the starting eleven because of fever, had to replace Himel as the younger goalkeeper left  the field with a twisted shoulder fifteen minutes to the time.

Aminul blocked a Nagaev Ivan shot on target in the 81st minute but Nagaev utilized the rebound netting the third and final one with a powerful right footer.

Bangledsh coach Robert Rubcic accused the fatigue condition of the players for this loss. “My boys made some mistakes because they were very tired. We will use this match’s experience for a better performance in the imminent ones,” said Rubcic.
