Dhaka, Nov 08: Young Bangladeshi custodian Md. Nehal flew for Guangzhou last night and joined the Asian Games squad today as both the current goalkeepers Aminul and Himel are struggling with injury.

Aminul caught fever after his arrival in Guangzhou and Himel is out of play for at least three weeks as his neck was wounded during the first match against Uzbekistan.

Nehal, who represented Bangladesh in international matches and different youth competitions as well, was in the stand-by list.

Apart from fielding a new Goalie, Bangladesh coach Robert Rubcic hinted two more changes in his side for tomorrow’s Asian Games Group-E match against United Arab Emirates.

“We could not utilize the opportunities in counter attacks in the previous match. Zahid will be effective in these situations. Meshu is also available as he has recovered from tendon injury,” said the Serbian coach.

Bangladesh lost their first match 3-0 against Uzbekistan.
