Dhaka, Nov 09: United Arab Emirates’ young striker Aljenaiby Ahmed scored the first one and his partner Abadallah Mohmed netted the other two to thump Bangladesh 3-0 in their 2^nd match of Asian Games Group E at Yingdong Stadium, Guangzhou today.

Bangladesh went for a defensive strategy from the very beginning of the match which was entirely dominated by the Arab side. Bangladesh coach Robert Rubcic made two changes in the starting eleven as Aminul Haque and Mamun Miah was fielded in place of Majharul Himel and Zahid Ameli.

The red and greens got an early chance in the 6^th minute in a counter attack. Zahid Hossain found his rival goalie Hausani Ali in a one on one situation but failed to beat and onrushing Hausani.

Aljenaiby put his side ahead just in the minute after the breather scoring from an Alabry Ahmed right flank aerial cross with a side volley.

UAE came in the rhythm after their first goal and Abdallah doubled the lead in the 63^rd minute while a corner kick was cleared by Bangladesh defender Reazaul with a header. Abdallah found the ball at the edge of the penalty area and beat Aminul with a left foot long ranger.

Abdallah sealed the match in the 82^nd minute utilizing an Aljenaiby right side square pass inside the penalty zone. Abdalla’s shot on target deflected on Rezaul before rolling into the net.

The assistant coach of Bangladesh, Saiful Bari Titu emphasized the experience they earned rather than their current position in the competition. “We do not get a lot of chances to play in such a level of the game. The experience our players are gathering is the gain for us in this tour," said Saiful.

“We played better in the first half and got some early chances but could not capitalize them. Our opponents became confident and more attacking after getting the lead which helped them to increase the margin,” He added.

Bangladesh lost their first match against Uzbekistan 3-0 and will face Hong Kong on Thursday in their last match.
