Abahani beat BJMC
Dhaka, March 3: Dhaka Abahani beat Team BJMC by 1-0 goal in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
With the win Abahani raised their tally to 11 points from five games while Team BJMC remained on their previous 5 from four matches.
Abahani took the lead in the 8th minute through their Ghanaian forward Twum Frank who put an angular shot in the middle of the net after Ghanaian midfielder Awudu Ibrahim sent a lob in the middle of the BJMC box and Frank took control (1-0).
Abahani dominated the scene but failed to increase lead due to the failures of their reliable names. Awudu volleyed straight to BJMC goalie Himel in the 36th minute after Lucky Paul curved a cross from the right flank, in the added time of the first half Lucky Paul found Himel in a one to one situation but Himel closed the angle to kick the ball to safety.
Six minutes after the re-start Awudu again shot straight to Himel at the top of the box.
BJMC relying upon Guinean Ismael Bangoura and Nigerian Ajagoun Abdul Rashid did not fire and Bangoura had the lone chance in the 39th minute but he fired the ball well over the crosspiece.
