Metropolis women school football March 20
Dhaka, March 10: The Metropolis Women’s School Football will kick off on March 20, birth day of Plan Bangladesh, a non government organization, who are working on promoting child right to end child poverty, in the four/five venues in Dhaka.
A total of 32 teams divided into eight groups of four will participate in the tournament. Champion team will be awarded Tk 40 thousand while runners-up Tk 30 thousand, said Bangladesh Football Federation’s women wing Chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu at a MoU signing and logo unveiling ceremony on Saturday.
In this connection, Bangladesh Football Federation and Plan Bangladesh, a non government international organization signed a MoU for three years to organize the league through out the country.
The MoU was signed by Kazi Salahuddin, President of BFF and Ms Myrna Remata Evora, Country Director of Plan Bangladesh on behalf of their respective organizations.
Plan Bangladesh, is helping with a purse of Tk 24 lacs to women wing for organizing the meet this year. BFF will also give a purse of Tk 5 lacs.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin was delighted that Plan Bangladesh expressed their interest to do work with BFF. “Plan Bangladesh has programs to develop rural and city girl. They showed us interest about women school football. We also were looking for partner. I wish we have a very good relation and we will do many good works in the future. They have a goal and we have a goal. I think we will make the program in very good way.” told BFF president.
Plan Bangladesh Country Director Myrna Remata Evora was also very happy to be a part of the women football. “The relation between BFF and Plan is just kicking off. We are working on Child specially girl. We know that much gender base violence happen here. We want to decrease it through building awareness and empowering women. We all know that together in playing field can be fair and proper attitude. We also supporting for the partner of boys and girl. We believe in sports. We can develop our girls through football.” said the country Director.
Deputy Chairman of Women Wing Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Program Manager of Plan Bangladesh Tim Jahid and other BFF and Plan Bangladesh officials were also present on the occasion.
