MSC, BJMC split points
Dhaka, March 17: Team BJMC and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd shared points in a 1-1 draw in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
The draw saw BJMC raise their tally to nine points from six matches while Mohammedan earned their 6th point from six matches.
The first half was a rather dull affair with both the teams creating only one scoring opportunity. BJMC was first to come close as Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix cut the ball back to Cameroonian forward Jean Jules Ikanga whose shot was punched by Mohammedan's goalie Ahsan Habib Dipu for a corner in the 7th minute.
Mohammedan hit back in the 16th minute but winger Mobarak’s shot from a close range off a through pass of Wahed went straight to BJMC goalie Himel.
BJMC took the lead in the 53rd minute after substitute midfielder Abul curved a free kick from the right hand flag and Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura headed the ball home from the top of the six yard box (1-0).
Basden Wilcox, the Nigerian forward of Mohammedan scored the equalizer in the 66th minute. Taking control of a Md. Rony lob Wilcox placed the ball in the far post net past onrushing Himel (1-1)
