Dhaka, May 15: Muktijoddha bounced back to winning ways with a 5-0 thrashing of Feni Soccer in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
 
Mithun Chowdhury scored a brace for Muktijoddha who was stunned by Farashganj in their previous match.
 
Nasiruddin Chowdhury put Muktijoddha ahead in the 7th minute after Brazilian midfielder Lima pushed a neat through from the midfield and Sunday Chizoba passed it to unmarked Nasir who stabbed the ball into the middle of the net (1-0).
 
Sunday Chizoba doubled the margin in the 21st minute after he ran past two defenders with a through pass of Lima and produced a beautiful footwork before placing the ball in the far post net (2-0).
 
Feni Soccer’s Guinean defender Mustafa Kaba was taken to the hospital in the 22nd minute with a head injury.
 
Mithun Chowdhury, who substituted Nasir during the break scored the third in the 64th minute heading the ball past Uzzal off a cross, that was curved by of Ariful from the right flank (3-0).
 
Shihab, another substitute midfielder scored the fourth goal in the 77th minute after Ariful headed the a Maruf corner back in the middle of the box and Shihab’s side volley crashed into the middle of the net (4-0).
 
Mithun Chowdhury hit his second in the stoppage time with a placing shot off a cut back of Sunday Chizoba (5-0)
 
Feni Socceer forward Iqbal Hossian Bhuiyan hit the Muktijodddha crosspiece in the 77th minute and midfielder Shahedul Alam Shahed saw his drive deflect off Arfiul’s body in the 83rd minute. 
 
With win Muktijoddha took their tally to 24 points from 12 matches while Feni Soccer remained on their previous 10 from 12 matches.
