Dhaka, June 10: Fasih-ul-Ulum Dakhil Madrasha, Sherpur and Barobata Sowdagarhat High School, Noakhali  drew 1-1 in the opening match of the final round of the National School Football, sponsored by Islami Bank Ltd at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.

Shafiqul Islam Dipto of Fasih-ul-Ulum Dakhil Madrasha put his team ahead off a penalty in the 3rd minute of the match. However Samiul Alam, the midfielder of Barobata Sowdagarhat High School equalized in the 25th minute off another penalty.

Nazrul Islam of Fasih-ul-Ulum Dakhil Madrasha wasted an easy scoring chance in the 21st minute by blasting the ball over the crosspiece. Barobata forward Shahadat Hossain was in a good position in the 57th minute but he placed the ball wide.

Earlier Kazi Salahuddin, the president of the Bangladesh Football Federation inaugurated the 16 team final round.

Fasih-ul-Ulum Dakhil Madrasha midfielder Shafiqul Islam Dipto was adjudged as the man of the match and received a pair of Lotto boots.
