KFC women’s super league kicks off Tuesday

Dhaka, July 08: The KFC National Women’s Super League 2012 primary round will kick off on Tuesday across the country.

A total of 36 teams will take part in the seven different venues-Khagrachari, Kushtia, Sylhet, Agriculture University, Jaipurhat, Nilphamari and BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur splitting into seven groups.

From the each group, one team will be promoted into the final round which will be stared in the 15/16 September this year.

Last year champions Ansar and VDP will join the seven teams in the final round.

Champion team will be rewarded a purse of Tk 80 thousand and runner up will get Tk 30 thousand. Every team will be paid Tk 10 thousand as participation money. Each venue also will get Tk 30 thousand as a organizer.

Total budget of the league is about 38 lacs. KFC Restaurant, the title sponsor, has given TK 10 lacs and BFF will bear the rest. BFF Women wings chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu disclosed these in a press conference at BFF House on Sunday.

Sirajul Islam Bachchu thanked KFC to come ahead and again sponsor the meet; “I would like to thank KFC to come with us. They sponsored us last year. I hope our relation will continue in the future.”said the women wings chairman. 

Deputy Chairman of women wings Mahfuza Akter Kiron is happy to bring the women football in the field, “We are happy that we are organizing the women football again. I hope it will help us to move ahead our women football. Insallah, our team will bring success from the international level very soon.”

Deputy Manager of KFC Tanvir Kaiser said, “We feel proud to sponsor women football. I hope our support will be continued.”

Other BFF and KFC officials were present on the occasion.

Bangladesh Agriculture University, Khulna, Tangail, Faridpur, Netrakona

Venue: Jaipurhat District Stadium
Jaipurhat, Jessore, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Bogra

Venue: Nilphamari District Stadium
Nilphamari, Rangpure, Dinajpur, Panchagar, Thakurgaon, Kurigram

Venue: BSSM Mostsfa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur
Kishoreganj, Narsighdi, Bangladesh police, Manikganj, Gopalganj
