Dhaka, November 20: The Walton Federation Cup Football Tournament kicks-off Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium with Dhaka Abahani Limited playing Rahmatganj MFS in the opening match at 3:45 pm.
 
In the other match of the Sk. Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited and Uttar Baridhara Club will lock horns with each other at 6:00 pm at the same venue.
 
DBL Group, AMBER Group and Progoti Insurance are named as co-sponsor of the opening event of new football season as the Walton Group is title sponsor of the meet. These were revealed by BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy in a press conference at the BFF House on Wednesday.
 
“We have come here to introduce our co-sponsor today. We thank them as they come forward to develop our country football. In spite of many problems, we have tried to focus our football.” said professional league committee chairman.     
 
Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Member of Professional Football League Committee. BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, Iqbal Bin Anowar, Additional Director, Games and Sports, Walton, Abdul Wahed, Chairman, DBL Group, K H Zafar Sadeque, Deputy Managing Director, Progoti Insurance Limited, Aktaruzzaman, Director, Sales and Marketing, AMBER Group were also present on the occasion.          
 
Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Nur Mohammad will inaugurate the 12-team meet, the curtain raiser football meet of the season, at a simple ceremony.
 
Two top teams from each group will reach quarterfinals.
 
BTV will telecast live opening match along with quarter finals, semi finals and final.
