Dhaka, November 21: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club started their Walton Federation Cup campaign with a 2-0 win over new BPL entrants Uttar Baridhara at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
 
Haitian forward Sony Norde socred both the goals in the first half. Jamal was reduced to ten men in the 74^th minute when midfielder Sohel Rana was sent off for a foul on Baridhara midfielder Kosoko Olasukanmi. 
 
Sony Norde put Sheikh Jamal ahead inthe 23^rd minute off a penalty. Uttar Baridhara defender Mohammadullah Dalim fouled Sony Norde at the middle of box and the referee pointed duly awarded a penalty. Sony converted it. (1-0)
 
Three minutes later Sony doubled the margin with a solo effort. Taking a through pass of midfielder Sohel Rana, Sony made an angular run through the defence and placed the ball into the far post net (2-0)
 
Jamal wasted a couple of chances in the later half of the match.
