Dhaka, January 19: Abahani Ltd edged past Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd 1-0 in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.

The match were as follows-

17 min- GOAL! Mohammedan defender Mintu Sheikh failed to clear a regulation cross of Abahani right back Atikur Rahman Mishu and Ghanaian forward Osie Morrison fired home with a controlled right footer (1-0)

20 min- Abahani goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel was out of position, Mohammedan forward Wahed Ahmed tried long ranger but defender Md. Sujon headed the ball away.

 36 min- MIshu curved a cross from the right flank and Touhidul Alam dived forward heading the ball, Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan saved the ball for a penalty.

First Half Analysis- Abahani- passed well, kept the possession, and they dominated the half. However apart from the goal which they found by opportunity, Awudu Ibrahim and Osie Morrison was not very efficient.

Mohammedan-Disorganized, no effective communication between the midfield and the attack, defence was also erratic.

65 min- Mohammedan midfielder Vincent Hemanta Biswas broke through the defence but his shot, taken from the middle of the box flew over the crosspiece.

Abahani was more focused upon keeping its lead rather than scoring another. They adopted a counter attacking strategy. Mohammedan attacked from the beginning of the second half.

87 min- Nahidul Islam brought Osie Morrison down in the left edge of the box and it was a penalty. However Cameroonian midfielder Yoko Samnik failed to score from the penalty.

90 min- Osie Morrison’s placing missed the open net.

Abahani has 10 points from four matches while Mohammedan remained on their previous collection of five from same number of matches.
