Dhaka, February 1: Dhaka Mohammedan beat Chittagong Abahani 2-0 in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.

Chittagong Abahani put a strong resistance to stop the Mohammedan attacking line up and in the first 30 minutes Egyptian Mostafa Seddik’s one to one situation with opponent goalie Nahiduddin went in vain  as the ball missed the side post.

 

Dhaka Mohammedan took the lead in the 38^th minute through their forward Touhidul Alam Sobuj. Sobuj, unmarked at the top of the box received a through pass of Zahid Hossain and went past his marker before scoring with an angular shot (1-0)

Just two minutes after the re-start skipper Emily sealed the fate of the match. Zahid cut a nice cross from the right flank and Emily headed the ball in the far post net from the middle of the box (2-0)

Mohammedan has 10 points from seven matches while Chittagong Abahani remained on their previous collection of 4 points from the same number of matches.
