Dhaka, February 3: Defending champions Sheikh Russell stumbled to a goalless draw against Abahani Ltd in the lone match of the Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
 
Abahani’s Cameroonian forward Ekele Patrick got the first chance in the 27^th minute but his shot was saved by Russell goalie Biplob. 

Three minutes later Abahni midfielder Touhidul Alam fed by midfielder Shahedul Alam saw his fierce drive miss the sidepost.
 
After the change of ends Russell took an attacking role but Haitian forward Pascal Millien, playing his first match placed wide of the side post in the 55^th minute.
 
Pascal Millien wasted another chance in the 59^th minute when his shot from the middle of the box went straight to Abahani Shahidul Alam Sohel.
 
Abahani has 17 points from seven matches while Russell has 12 points from eight matches.
