Premier Bank BCL kicks off Wednesday
Dhaka, February 24: The Premier Bank Bangladesh Championship League comprising seven teams kicks-off at the Shahid Sipahi Md. Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur on Wednesday.
Premier Bank, one of the leading banks of the private sector continued their sponsorship of the second tier of the professional league football with a purse of Tk 25 lacs only.
The teams are Victoria Sporitng Club, Wari Club, Badda Jagoroni, Arambagh, Rahmataganj, Farashganj and Agrani Bank. The teams will the three phase league and after the completion two teams will be promoted to the Bangladesh Premier League while one will be relegated to the Dhaka first division.
The prize money of the league will be Tk 5 lacs while the runners-up will be provided a purse of Tk. 3 lacs only.
In a press conference held at the BFF House yesterday Abdus Salam Murshedy, the senior vice president of Bangladesh Football Federation lauded Premier Bank for the sponsorship. “Premier Bank’s assistance will definitely add pace in the development process of the game in the country, we are thankful to them” said Salam.
Dewan Anwarul Latif, the DMD of the Premier Bank hoped football will proceed with the demand of time and Bangladesh will enjoy a better future in the football arena.
BFF general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag, executive committee member Harunur Rashid, Premier Bank officials Md. Imtiazuddin and Syed Nawsher Ali were also present on the occasion.
