Dhaka, March 23: Abahani limited defeated Arambagh Krira Sangha 2-0 in the Modhumoti Bank Independence Cup tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
 
Ekeleme Patrick broke the deadlock for Abahani in the 51^st minute of the match with a solo effort. Capitalizing a through pass fed by Ghanaian forward Osei Morrison, the Cameroonian hit-man rushed forward and entered into the box and placed the ball into the net after dodging past Arambagh goalie Biplob Kumar Mali. (1-0)
 
The Cameroonian Patrick doubled the lead in the 60^th minute with another placing shot on a cross of Ghanaian forward Awudu Ibrahim from the right. (2-0)
 
Arambagh forward Monowar Hossain was sent off  with a direct red card for abusing language by referee Bhuban Mohan Tarrafder in the 42^nd minute of the match.
