Dhaka, April 9: Dhaka Mohammedan moved into the final of the Modhumoti Bank Independence Cup Football beating Abahani 1-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday. 

In the 32nd minute Mohammedan took the lead off a combined effort.  Hematna went past his marker Md. Shujon and cut the ball back to Ossuseni  Zongo, Burkina Faso midfielder  whose shot took a deflection of Zahid Hasan Ameli before the ball entered nto the middle of the net (1-0) 

In the last minute of the first half both the teams came close to a strike. Winger Zahid Hossain cut a neat square pass to Zongo bu this time the Burkina Faso player shot over the crosspiece. In the very next counter attack Abahanis Ghanaian forward Osie Morrison made his way through the Mohammedan defence but shot to Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan from a close range. 

Six minutes after the break Abahanis Portuguese forward Leonildo Suares saw his powerful header on a cross of Waly Faisal fly over the crosspost. 

In the 79th minute Osie Morrison provided Awudu Ibrahim a neat square pass but Awudu missed the line of the ball in the middle of the six yard box.

Mohammedan made it defence more compact in the dying stage of the game and Abahani forwards could not find free spaces in the opposition defence.

Mohammedan will face Feni Soccer in the final on April 12.
