Jamal beat Ctg Abahani

Dhaka, April 18: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club started their 2nd phase of Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier League with a 2-1 win over Chittagong Abahani Ltd at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.

Forward Sohel Mia put Ctg Abahani ahead in the 8th minute of the match from a misunderstanding between Sheikh jamal defenders and goalkeeper. Defender Diderul Haque sent a back pass to goalie Md. Ziaur Rahman who failed to hold the ball and Ctg Abahani’s forward Sohel placed it into the net from zero angel. (1-0)

Jamal had chance to level the score but Nigerian forward Denial Onyekachi’s right footed shot from the box was saved by Selim Ullah dived to the right in the 20th minute.

Denial squandered another opportunity in the 63rd minute as his header went wide on a cross of Haitian forward Wedson Anselme.

However, Jamal came back in the match in the 73rd minute when captain Nasiruddin Chowdhury’s header hit the back of the net the cross was fed by Wedson from the left. (1-1)
