Nepal U-23 arrives Monday
Dhaka, August 24: A 24-member Nepal Under-23 national team will arrive Dhaka on Monday to play two preparation matches with South Korea-bound Bangladesh U-23 team.
SS Steel is sponsoring the two friendly matches to be held first match in Dhaka on Tuesday next and second match in Sylhet on Friday next.
The Bangladesh Under-23 football team were placed alongside Uzbekistan, Hong Kong and Saff Championship winners Afghanistan.
Head coach Lodewijk de Kruif kept national team's skipper Mamunul Islam, midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan and defender Atiqur Rahman Meshu as the three senior players eligible for the side.
Six players -- Aminur Rahman Shajib, Rasel Mahmud Liton, Tutul Hossain Badsha, Yousuf Sifat, Atiqur Rahman Farhad and Jewel Rana -- have been called up for national duties for the first time.
The national U-23 team are scheduled to play two friendly matches at home against Nepal national team on August 26 at dhaka and 29 at Sylhet. The team is expected to leave for Incheon, Korea on September 12 for the Asian Games.
