Iran beat Jordan 6-1
Dhaka, October 21: Iran continued their winning spree in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship group B qualifiers with a 6-1 victory over Jordan at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Fatemeh Geraeli and Fatemeh Ghashemi both scored three goals each for the winners.
Iran took the lead in the 22nd minute with skipper Fatemeh Geraeli scoring a superb goal with a looping shot from 30 yards out (1-0)
The lead was doubled in the 39th minute when Fatemeh Geraeli flicked a free kick of Mamshad Amiri in the far post (2-0)
Forward Fatemeh Ghashemi added the third in the 42nd minute, she dashed past the Jordanian defence before putting the ball into the far post net with an angular shot (3-0)
Jordanian midfielder Noor Mahmoud Rajab Zooash curved a free kick in the injury time of the first half and ball dropped in the middle of the Iran goal post and deceived goalie Hengameh Sefati to enter the post (3-1)
Skipper Fatemeh Geraeli completed her hat-trick in the 52nd minute after Sana Sadeghy made her free with a long ball and Geraeli chipped the ball over Jordanian goalie Rand Naser Salem into the net (4-1)
Fatemeh Geraeli saw her powerful header tipped by Jordan goalie Rand Naser Salem and cleared from the goal line by defender Alanoud Ihab.
Jordan forward Leen Yasin Mohammad failed to beat Iran goalie Hengameh Sefati in a one to one situation in the 79th minute.
Fatemeh Ghashemi scored two goals in two minutes 83rd (5-1) and 84th minutes to take the lead to 6-1.
Iran play Bangladesh in their last match on Thursday while Jordan takes on India.
