Dhaka, October 23: India beat Jordan 6-2 in their last match of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship group B qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Jordan took the lead in the 11th minute through their midfielder Tasneem but India restored the parity in the 19th minute riding on the strike of forward Anushka Samuel. India piled up considerable pressure and added another two in the 21st and 26th minute through Sushmita Bardhan and Eva Panna respectively.
Jeeda Laith Ibrahim saw her 25 yarder slip from the gloves of Indian goalie Shreya in the 53rd minute. However Anushka added her second in the 69th minute with a gentle tap past Jordan goalie Rand Naser to make the scoreline 4-2.
In the 75th minute Leen Yasin Mohammed reduced the margin to 4-3 but tow late strikes by Jabamani Tudu in the 86th and Rojae Devi in the 89th minute saw India end their campaign with a 6-3 win.
