Dhaka, January 22: The Security Committee of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup led by DIG Sheikh Md.  Maruf Hasan assured of fool proof security for the foreign teams as well for the local spectators in press briefing held at the BFF House Thursday.

Maruf who is also the AFC security officer of the country said highest possible security measures will be taken for the Bangabandhu Gold Cup. “We don't want to disclose the measures and it is not desirable also but what we want to say that the venues and the players will be wrapped with the top security measures, it would be visible and invisible both, plain clothed security officials will be roaming all over” said Maruf. 

Maruf said they are confident of a cool and calm atmosphere. “Traditionally we have clean record of hosting sports events, we have every hope that it would be continued, we have the right approach of preserving the peaceful atmosphere, Police and RAB will be working together during the football tournament” said Maruf. 

The Security Committee will fly to Sylhet Friday to check the measures. “Regarding Sylhet we will hope that the number of tickets will be the same as the seating capacity, if its properly maintained then I think it would not be tough to maintain the discipline” said Maruf. 

The deputy chairman of the committee Joint Commissioner DMP Mir Rezaul Alam was also present in the briefing.
