De Kruif raring to go
Dhaka, January 25: Bangladesh football team flies to Sylhet on Monday focusing upon attaining the premium fitness, psychologically and physically for the challenges of Bangabandhu Gold Cup. The urge of putting a good show in front of the home crowd and for the enhancing of image was evident in a presser attended by the head coach Lodewijk de Kruif and skipper Mamunul Islam at the BFF House on Sunday .
Lodewijk de Kruif, who arrived on Saturday and rushed to the residential camp at BKSP appeared before the press looking fresh and confident. “It's my first home mission and its a big challenge also, I have found the team good and the thirst is there, we have to show where Bangladesh football stand and we are confident of putting a good show” said the Dutch coach.
The Dutch coach said in the group Malaysia has the superiority. “Regarding the level of football and the facilities and ranking Malaysia are the top team, Bangladesh is second and Sri Lanka third, but its important not to undermine any opponents and the beauty of football means playing better football against better opponents, I have been trying to know the details of Malaysia's approach and tactics” said the Dutch.
Skipper Mamunul Islam thought with the arrival of de Kruif the team spirit has enhanced. “The players are very happy with the return of de Kruif, we have been trying to play pressing football under his guidance and now we feel more confident and we are ready to attain our first target of reaching the semis first” said Mamunul.
