Jamal retain Fed Cup Title
Dhaka, March 5: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club retained the Federation
Cup Title beating Muktijoddha Sangshad KC 6-4 in a highly competitive final at
the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
This is the third federation cup title for Jamal. They won another two
titles in 2011 and 2013.
Jamal took the lead in the 6th minute when Nigerian forward Emeka
Darlington headed home a Sohel Rana cross that was curved from the right flank.

However lady luck smiled for Muktijoddha one minute later as Jamal
conceded an own goal. Defender Yeamin Ahmed Chowdhury Munna, standing in the six
yard box deflected a Faisal Mahmood cross into his own net. (1-1)
Jamal went ahead again in the 13th minute when Raihan Hasan’s long
throw was back heeled by Darlington to Haitian forward Wedson Anselme, the wily
Haitian made room for him before sending a fierce left footer into the far post
net. (2-1)
Muktijoddha staged a comeback
for the second time in the 30th minute and it was Senegalese forward Camara
Sarba who netted the equaliser. A long throw of Enamul Haque dipped into the
middle of the Jamal box and Moroccan defender Abbas Inusah tapped the ball to
Camara who kept his cool to beat Jamal goalie Shahedul Alam Sohel in the far
post net. (2-2)
In the 39th minute Akramuzzaman
lLiton curved a corner and Muktijoddha
skipper Enamul Haque headed home
the third goal for the red outfits. (3-2)

Sarba headed a long ball in the way of
onrushing Enamul who sidefooted the ball between the legs of Jamal goalie Sohel.

Jamal came back into the match 62nd minute. Gambian
midfielder Landing Darboe sent a through pass to Wedson dribbled past Muktis
goalie Titumir Chowdhury and placed the ball into the net. (4-3)
Wedson completed his hat-trick and leveled the score in the 70th
minute. Intercepting a miss pass of Muktis defender entered into the box dribbling
pass two defenders and shot the ball into the net. (4-4)
Darlington netted the fifth goal for Jamal in the 107th minute
with placing shot on a cutback of Landing Darboe. (5-4)
Rubel Mia sealed the victory for Jamal in the 118th minute
with a placing shot. (6-4)
