Dhaka, March 29: Syria overpowered  India 4-0 in the AFC U-23 group E Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday. India played the last 20 minute of the match with ten men. 

Syria played a controlled game, conserving their energy and did not enforce the initial pressure like they did against Bangladesh.

The Middle East team took the lead in the 15th minute with a superb one touch show. Mouilad al Ajjan,the left back initiated the move at the left flank, Amro Jeniat, the winger cut the ball back to midfielder Nassouh Nakhdali at the top of the box, Nakhdali pushed the ball to forward Mahmoud al Mawas who placed the ball into the far post net (1-0). 

India tried to fight back and in the 39th minute Germanpreet Singh saw his 20 yarder miss the Syrian crosspiece.

However the lead was doubled in the 45th minute with midfielder Omar Kharbin heading home a neat cross of Nassouh Nakhdali (2-0) 

In the 60th minute Indian forward Jayesh Dilip Rane saw his 25 yarder kiss the Syrian crosspiece. But in the very next counter attack Mahmoud al Mawas made the way for Omar Kharbin who placed the ball in from the top of the six yard box (3-0). It was his fourth goal in two matches.

In the 70th minute India was reduced to ten men with defender Shankar receiving a direct red card.

Mahmoud al Mawas scored his second in the  81st minute heading a  cross of Omro al Midani (4-0)

Syria now has six points from two matches, they beat hosts Bangladesh 4-0 in the first match, India lost to Uzbekistan 2-0 in their first encounter.
