Dhaka, April 9: Dhaka Mohammedan thrashed Chittagong Abahani  5-0 in the first match of the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.

Chittagong Abahani  forward Md. Sumon Ali carrying a Abdul  Hannan Raju through pass went past the Mohammedan defence but hit the side post from a close range.

In the 50th minute Mohammedan forward Touhidul Alam Sobuj placed the ball over Abahani goalie Md. Ershad but defender Prodip Barua cleared the ball from the goalline.

Ismael Bangoura, the Guinean forward put Mohammedan ahead in the 59th minute with a cool headed finishing (1-0)

Towhidul Alam Sobuj doubled the lead in the 66th minute as he placed a long ball of Mobarak Hossain in the far post net (2-0)

Masuk Mia Johnny’scored third goal for Mohammedan in the 69th minute when a Ershad blocked a shot of Mohammedan winger Md.Ibrahim and Jonny placed the rebounder in the far post net (3-0)

Bangoura added the fourth in the 85th minute after midfielder Masuk Mia Johnny’s shot was saved by Ershad but Bangoura took control of the rebounder and shot low in the far post (4-0)

In the stoppage time Arup Baidya netted the fifth with a side footed placing after Bangoura fed him with a square pass (5-0)
