Saudis demolish UAE 6-2
Dhaka, September 20, 2015: Saudi Arabia confirmed a final round ticket of AFC U-16 Championship 2016 thrashing United Arab Emirates 6-2 in the last match of group D at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on Sunday.
Saudi Arabia earlier beat Bangladesh 5-1 to emerge as the group champions.
Ali Saleh put UAE ahead in the 5th minute with a placing shot from the left of the box after running past his markers.
Saudi Arabia restored the parity in the 8th minute. Midfielder Dhari Alanazi curved a free-kick from right flank to the middle of the box where midfielder Ali Alshaikhi headed the ball into the far corner of the net. (1-1)
Saudi Arabia went up in the 16th minute. Midfielder Mali curved a cross from right and Aldhuwayhi Abdulaziz headed down the ball to Alababdan Hamad who placed the ball into the net. (2-1)
Dhari Alanazi scored the third goal for Saudis in the 19th minute of the match with a solo effort. After taking the ball the midfielder entered into the box and dodged past UAE keeper Alhereth Salem before placing the ball into the net. (3-1)
UAE Captain Majid Rashid reduced the margin in the 48th minute through a penalty shot. Saudi captain and defender Almas Naif Mousa brought down UAE forward Ali Saleh Amro in the box and Korean referee Kim Daeyong whistled for spot kick. The midfielder Majid converted the kick. (3-2)
Alabdan Hamad Abdan netted the fourth goal for Saudi in the 57th minute with an angular shot from the middle of the box. (4-2)
Saudi Arabia added the fifth goal in the 60th minute through their defender Almas Naif Mousa who headed the ball into the far post. (5-2)
Alabdan Hamad Abdan slammed his hat-trick in the 70th minute with aleft footer on a cut back of midfielder Mali from the right. (6-2)
