Nepal lift Bangabandhu Gold Cup title

Dhaka, January 22: Nepal ended their 23 years title drought beating Bahrain 3-0 in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.

05 Min: Biraj Maharjan cuts a neat cross in the left edge of the Bahrain box where Anjan Bista heads it towards to Bahrain goal. Bahrain goalie Mahboob Aldoseri fists the ball but unmarked Nepalese forward Bimal Gharti Magar tabs the ball into the net. (1-0)

24 Min: Bahrain come close to equalizer. Mohammed Alinar's lob are placed toward the left hand post of goalie Bikas Kuthu who pulls out a driving save.

30 Min: Half an hour into the game Bahrain trying hard for the equalizer. They are leading in the ball position. But Nepal defending solidly.

40 Min: Nepal Bahrain both playing contained game taking less risk. However, Nepalese defences seem to be controlling the procedure giving no space to Bahrain attackers.

45 Min: 3 minute of added time. Players of both teams slightly losing temper.

At end of the half time Nepal leads 1-0.

50 Min: Bahrain adopting a counter attack in strategy with Nepal relying on the midfield, but Bahrain still to pull something special.

52 Min: Bahrain survives again. Bimal Gharti Magar superb footwork makes the ball open for Nawayug Shrestha whose right foot chip fisted away over the crosspiece by goalie Mahboob Aldoseri.

55 Min: Bahrain Captain Abdulaziz Alshaikh scorching left footer was superbly saved by full diving Bikas Kuthu for a corner.

62 Min: Nepal misses another golden opportunity. Heman Gurung found the Bahrain goalie alone but puts his left footer wide from the middle of the box.

70 Min: Nepal holding the ball to keep their lead. Bahrain Make one change. Anwar Ali in and Jasim Alshaikh out.

71 Min. Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Government Sheikh Hasina is in the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

75 Min: Nepal substitution. Heman Gurung out Sumon Lama in.

80 Min: Nepal just 10 minute away from title whereas Bahrain trying to save.

82 Min: Double red card. Bahrain midfielder Ahmed Althuani and Nepal forward Sumon Lama were sent off showing direct red card.

87 Min. Nepal doubled the lead when Bishal Rai flicks the cut back of Anjan Bista into the middle of the net. Nepal close to title(2-0)

90 Min: Nepal sealed their victory as Nawayug Shrestha heads home on a cross of Bimal Gharti Magar. (3-0)

Injury time: Another red card for Bahrain. Captain Abdulaziz Alsheikh sent off showing double yellow.
