BJMC lift the women’s title
Dhaka, March 10, 2016: Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) lifted
the title of KFC National Women's Football Championship beating Mymensingh 7-1 at
the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Thursday.
National strikers Sabina Khatun and Ishrat Jahanan Swapna shared all
seven goals. Sabina slammed a hat-trick with four goals scoring in the 16th,
69th, 85th, and 88th minute. Swapna also
slammed a hat-trick netting in the 49th, 77th and 88th
minute of the match. Sanjida scored the consolation goal for Mymensingh.
Champion Team BJMC received Tk 50,000 as prize money and a Champions
trophy while Mymensingh District team received Tk 25,000 as prize money and a Runners-up
trophy. Rangpur District team received “Fair Play Trophy”.
Besides, Sabina Khatun of BJMC named as the highest scorer of the
tournament scoring 22 goals, Sanjida of Mymensingh was adjudged the most
valuable player of the Tournament, Ela Moni of Tangail named as the most
promising player of the tournament.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP was present as
chief guest and distributed the trophies among the winners.
Jahedul Alam Area Coach- Trans Com Foods Ltd., Mahfuza Akter Kiron
(AFC Executive Member), Abdur Rahim (Deputy Chairmen, Professional Football
League Committee), Amit Khan Shuvro (Ex- National Football Player) and other
BFF officials were also present on the occasion.
