Jamal thump MSC
Dhaka, April 4, 2016: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club
made a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club in
the KFC Independence Cup 2016 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Forward Enamul Haque put Jamal ahead in the 9th minute
of the match. Gambian midfielder Landing Darboe sent a square pass to Enamul whose upward placing
hit the roof of the net. (1-0)
Jamal doubled the lead through their Haitian
forward Wedson Enselme in the 16th minute. Receiving a through pass
from Emeka Darlington, the Haitian forward entered into the box and placed the
ball into the net beating Mohammedan goalie Md. Nehal. (2-0)
Mohammedan had chance to reduce the margin in
the 19th minute but Cameroonian defender Poueme Landry’s header was
cleared by Jamal defender Anisul Alam Sweet from the goal line.
Jamal were close to a third when Emeka
Darlington’s header on a cross of wedson from left was saved by goalie Nehal
diving to the right in 37th minute.
Mohammedan wasted a chance very first minute in
the second half. Guinean forward Ismail Bangoura sent a cross into middle of
the box from right flank where Masud Rana failed touch the ball having open
net.
