Dhaka, 4 May 2016: Chittagong Abahani Limited moved into final of the
KFC Independence Cup beating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakkra 4-2 in the penalty
shootout at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
The match ended 1-1 draw in the stipulated time and extra time.
In the 15th minute Monayed Khan Ranu curved a low cross to Ethiopian
forward Fikru Teffea who placed the ball at the path of onrushing midfielder

minute when he broke free past the Russel defence and beat Russel onrushing goalie
Rasel Mahmud Liton with a super through pass of Zahid Hossain. But Kawshik took
too much time allowing Russel defenders to take control of the ball.

Forward Shakhawat Rony’s grounder taken from the left edge of the box slipped
away from the gloves of Ctg Abahani goalie Ashraful Islam Rana and unmarked Fikru Teferra headed the ball home.
