Turjo lone new face in Tajik bound squad
Dhaka, May 28: Bangladesh Football Federation declared a 23 member squad for Asian Cup play-off qualifier at the BFF House on Saturday. Dutch head coach Lodwick de Kruif presented the team to the press.
Bangladesh national football team will play a two-match playoff (stage-1) against Tajikistan. Bangladesh will play their away match on June 2 and the home match on June 7 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Mamunul Islam has been re-elected as the captain of the national football team.Forward Syed Rashed Turjo is the lone new face in the squad.
De Kruif promised that Bangladesh will fare well in the challenges against Tajikistan. “I have chosen the players on the merit of what to do’s against Tajikistan, the boy’s have worked hard, i have every belief that Bangladesh will stand hard against the Tajik’s with the aim of providing some good times to Bangladesh football”
The selected players are:-
Goalkeepers: Rasel Mahmud Liton, Shahidul Alam Sohel, and Ashraful Islam Rana.
Defenders: Rayhan Hasan, Nasiruddin Chowdhury, Topu Barman, Nasirul Islam Nasir, Yemin Ahmed Chowdhury Munna, Mamun Miah, Ariful Islam, Rezaul Karim and Waly Faisal.
Midfielders: Monaem Khan Raju, Jamal Bhiuiyan. Mamunul Islam, Faisal Mahmud, Shahedul Alam Shahed Sr, Misuk Miah Zoni, Emon Mahmud.
Forwards: Jewel Rana, Rubel Miah, Nabib Newaz Zijob, Sayed Rased Turzo.
