Rahmatganj upset Russel
Dhaka, July 28: Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society staged the second upset in the JB Bangladesh Premier League beating Sheikh Russell KC 2-0 at the M.A Aziz Stadium Chittagong on Thursday.
Sheikh Russell lost to Uttar Baridhara 1-0 in their first match.
In the 18 minute Sheikh Russel came close to a strike when Mintu Sheikh shot over the bar from middle of the box after Paul Emile set him up with a short pass. In the 30th minute Cameroonian forward Paul Emile broke into the right of the penalty area and provided a cutback to Alamgir Kabir Rana who shot wide.
In the 52' minute Rahmangj goalie Masum failed to grip a long ball of Monaem Khan Raju, but Paul Emile who collected the rebound fired over the bar.
Mehbub Hasan Nayon put the old Dhaka outfits ahead in the 76th minute when his quick angular shot on a low cross of Siyo Zunapiyo landed in the far post net (1-0)
In the 88th minute midfielder Md. Alauddin scored the second with a curving effort from 20 yards out (2-0)
