Dhaka, 19 October 2016: Abahani Limited, Dhaka inflicted the first defeat on Rahmatganj MFS winning 2-0 in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

Abahani goalkeeper Shahidul alam Sohel from early danger in the 16^th minute with a timely fisted clearance of a Jatta Mostafa free kick.

In the 32^nd minute Samiul Islam Masum, the Rahmatganj goalkeeper pulled out a brilliant save as he fisted a Sunday Chizoba head for corner.

Rahmatganj hit back in a counter attack in the 39^th minute when Congolese forward Siyo Zunapio capitalized a defence fumble but shot straight to Abahani goalie Sohel.

Rahmatganj goalie Saimiul Islam Masum was in his brilliant best in the 44^th minute when moved forward and dived into the feet of Sunday Chizoba and blocked the ball in an one to one situation.

Nigerian Sunday Chizoba broke the deadlock for Abahani in the 48^th minute. Winger Jewel Rana delivered a through pass to Sunday who chested the ball past his markers as well as goalie Masum and placed the ball in the middle of the net from the box. (1-0)

Rahmatganj almost equalized in the very next minute with Siyo Zunapio cutting a square pass from right edge of the box but midfielder Mehbub Hasan Nayon failed to place the ball an open net.

It was Sunday who scored his second and sealed the victory for Abahani as he found Rahmatganj goalie Masum out of his position and hit a looping shot from 60 yards into net in the injury time.

Shawkat Rasel of Rahmatganj and Sohel of Abahani were sent off by referee in the injury showing direct red card.

With the win Abahani earned 23 points from 11 matches while Rahmatganj remained with 22 points from 11 matches
