Dhaka, December 20: Final match and prize giving ceremony of the 2^nd Sokhi Women’s Football Tournament 2016 took place on Tuesday (December 20, 2016) afternoon at the Pallibandhu Ershad school field, adjacent to Dhaka city’s Karail area.

Chairperson of the women’s wing of Bangladesh Football Federation Mahfuza Akter Kiran attended the program as the chief guest. First secretary of embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Any Vestjens, Karail Central CBO’s President Selina Akter and Barrister Sara Hossain, among others, were present there.

In the final, Aniruddho Mohakhali Nari Dol beat Duronta Mohakhali by 2-1 in tiebreaker and clinched the trophy of 2^nd Sokhi Women’s Tournament 2016. Later on, the players were awarded trophy, medal and certificates. The chief guest, in her speech said that the BFF will help as much as it can so that female footballers can take proper training and excel them as professional footballers.

Sokhi Women Tournament is actually a non-professional tournament arranged by Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) and Karail Central CBO as a part of the movement to secure the rights of women in Bangladesh.
