Dhaka ,December 30: Dhaka Abahani made history becoming the first unbeaten champions of Bangladesh Premier League with a 3-1 win over Rahmatganj MFS in their last match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Congolese forward Siyo Zunapiyo put Rahmtagnj ahead in the 22nd minute heading a home a cross of Alauddin.
Nabib Newaz Jibon restored the parity in the 47th minute capitalizing a back pass of English forward Jonathan David.
Jibon stamped Abahani’s superiority in the 49th minute with David again paving the way with a square pass from the right flank.
In the third minute of the stoppage time David completed the rout.
Its overall the fifth silverware of Dhaka Abahani who won the BPL also in 2007, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2011-12.
Sheikh Jamal has won the title twice and Sheikh Russell once but none of them remained unbeaten till conclusion of the league. Dhaka Abahani entered the record book as the first unbeaten champions of BPL.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin distributed the prizes as the chief guest.
