'Japan big learning experience'

Dhaka, February 1: Bangladesh U-16 women’s team savoured their J Green Sakai Football Festival as a big learning experience in a press conference held at the BFF House on Wednesday.

Coach Golam Rabbani Choton termed the tour fruitful ahead of the AFC championship.

“In a big stage like Sakai Academy the girls were a little anxious in the start, but adapted the conditions quickly and I was really happy to see the players implement the plans accordingly. They learnt a lot from this tour’ said the Head Coach.

Skipper Krishna Rani Sarker remained amazed with the tour. “It was like a dream camp. You dream football in every step and every aspect, we have to do our own works including the dish washing, we saw the professional training, we were motivated to do something special for the country, we tried our best”.

Star forward Sirat Jahan Swapna thought about the enhancement of confidence.

“We were afraid in the opening part of the tour, but we grew in confidence, we showed that we can play good football, we want to continue the spree” said Swapna who scored eight goals in the tour.

Bangladesh U16 team took part in the J-GREEN Sakai Lady’s Festival that took place on January 28-29 in Osaka, Japan.

Of the seven matches they played, including the friendly with Sakai Academy, the Bengal Girls won 4, lost 1 and drew 2.
