Dhaka, February 12: With the kind approval of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina, the Honourable Prime Minister of the government of People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Football Federation is delighted to announce that 'Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017' -- the second edition of the tournament -- is scheduled to begin on February 18, 2017.

Approved by FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the tournament named after Bangabandhu's eldest son and eminent sports organizer martyred Sheikh Kamal will be organized by the BFF in association with Chittagong Abahani Ltd.

All the matches of the tournament, arranged to show respect to the memory of Sheikh Kamal, will be played at Chittagong's MA Aziz Stadium from the inauguration on February 18 to the final match on March 2.

In this edition of the tournament, 8 club teams will participate to fight for the prestigious trophy including five foreign teams.

The teams are: Shaheen Asmayee FC (Afghanistan), Manang Marshyangdi Club (Nepal), TC Sports Club (Maldives), Pocheon Citizen Football Club (South Korea), FC Alga Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited.

The official draw and trophy unveiling ceremony of the 'Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017' will be held at 3:30 pm on February 13 (Monday), 2017 at the ball room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.

MP MA Latif, Chairman of Chittagong Abahani Ltd. and vice-chairman of the organizing committee, will preside over the ceremony on the day.

MP AHM Mustafa Kamal, Planning Minister of Bangladesh, has also agreed to join the ceremony as the chief guest.

Moreover, MP Dr. Biren Sikder, State Minister for Youth and Sports, MP Md Zahid Ahsan Russel, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports and vice-chairman of the organizing committee of 'Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2017', Kazi Md Salahuddin, President of BFF and SAFF and Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, Director of Square Group will attend the ceremony as special guests.
