Dhaka, May 3: Professionally trained BKSP, and the talented Dhaka Division U-18 Team is all set to lock horns in the final of the ‘Walton National U-18 Football Championship’ at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 4:00PM on Thursday.
The champions will get a purse of Taka one lakh while the runners up will get
Tk. 50 thousand.
State minister for youth and sports Biren Sikder will be the chief guest in the
final match.
The pre-match press conference, ahead of the final, was held at 12:00 pm on
Wednesday (03-05-2017) at the conference room (2nd floor) of the BFF House in
Motijheel, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Football Federation has
designed the National U-18 Football Championship in order to handpick the
future talents.
The two teams – BKSP and Dhaka - are all set to showcase their prowess in the
title decider.
The last edition of this championship was held on 2007 and after a span of
eleven years BKSP and Dhaka are set for the much anticipated final.
Notably, Dhaka Division won the title eleven years ago and they are eager to
continue their success streak.
In the pre-final press meet at the BFF House on Wednesday, Dhaka coach Abul
Hossain reiterated the team’s ambitions. “BKSP is the favourite tomorrow as
they maintain a schedule and they train throughout the year, but we will not
let them go without a fight. We believe in ourselves and we are confident to
win the title fighting till the last minute.”
His counterpart Poritosh Dewan was ready to face the challenge. “I have seen Dhaka’s matches and they are a strong side, but I have different plans for them and I hope my team will be putting their normal performance which would be enough to win the title.”
The two captains, Rakibul Islam of Dhaka and Swapan Kuamr of BKSP both hoped their teams will give their best in the finale.
