Dhaka Jan 16: Muktijoddha Sanghshad striker Mithun Chowdhury scored twice to edge pass Soccer Club, Feni 2-1 in the fourth round of Grammeenphone Bangladesh League at BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium Kamalpur today.

After this triumph, Muktijoddha is sharing the second position with Dhaka Abahani Limited in the table with nine points from four matches, whereas Soccer Club Feni kept bottom third with two points from the same matches.

Muktijoddha were organized in the first half and early in the second half but they were looking scattered after reduce the margin of Soccer Club.

Muktijoddha charged up from the start but they finally found score injury time of first half when their striker Mithun struck on with a driving head from a back header of Bukola that was cross of Maruf.

Mithun doubled the lead in the second half with assistance of Nigerian striker Bukola. He netted the ball from rebound off Soccer goalkeeper Piru long distance shot by Bukola in the 56 minutes.

After conceding two goals, Soccer club came into the match when their substitute striker Tauhid reduced the margin from a left footed free kick of Nayan out site of the D-box in the 72^nd minutes.

Loser got some good chances to score the level after the third goal of the match but none could utilize any of those.

Muktijoddha coach Maruful Haque is satisfied with his boys’ performance. “ I am happy with the performance. They performed better than previous matches. The game was under control before their goal. They were undisciplined last after conceding goal but at last we won. The win motivated us. Hope, we will do more better next match.”

Tomorrow match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd. will meet with Arambagh KC at at BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium Kamalpur.
