Dhaka, Jan 17: Arambagh KC upset title contender Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by a solitary goal at BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium today.
Shikh Jamal took the charge from start but goalkeeper Bishnu saved Arambagh from the danger saving Enamul's placing shot off an Ariful cross in the 18th minute.
Ismail broke the deadlock for Arambagh and scored all important goal from a penalty in the 35th minute as Cameroonian defence Modo Huges brought down him. Ismail stepped up to make it 1-0.
After conceding the goal, the Dhanmondi outfit kept pressure on black and white but lack of a good finisher was their Achilles Heel. Arambagh defence made a strong wall in front of Shekh Jamal attackers. Even national striker Enamul failed to rise on the occasion.
Jamal forward Sabuj missed another opportunity in the 37 minutes when his shot landed in the outside net from a close range.
Arambagh coach Milon Mollah was very happy with this victory against big team. “Obviously, you would be happy with the win against a big team. Sheikh Jamal was a very good team. The day was not for them. I want to say bad luck for them good luck for us. I motivated my boys psychologically. They played as per my instructions.”
After this win, Arambagh KC got 4 points from same four matches while Sheikh Jamal kept five points from the same matches.
Farashganj Sporting Club will meet Chittagong Abahani at BSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium tomorrow last match of the fourth round.
