Dhaka, September 26: National coach Nikola Ilielvski expressed satisfaction over the performance of the U-19 football team after the practice matches held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.

In the first practice match Bangladesh U-19 preparing for the AFC U-19 qualifiers beat the Bangladesh national team (A) by 2-1 goals. Shajib of the U-19 team scored a brace for his team while Shakhawat Rony reduced the margin in the dying minutes.

Later Bangladesh national team (B) and U-22 team played out a goalless draw.

In the next match U-21 beat the U-19 (B) by 3-1 goals. Sohel, Sohel Rana and Mokhles netted for the U-21 team while Masud Rana scored the consolation for the U-19 second choice team.

A total of 80 players played for the six teams in the three practice matches.

Ilievski was happy with the performance of his U-19 players. “They played well and showed the effect of the training, but I think the midfield and the goalkeeping has to improve, I will make them work hard for better preparation ahead of the final challenges” said Ilievski.

“In the AFC U-19 qualifiers the team will face strong challenge, the team is taking shape and we are working hard” said the Macedonian.
