Mukti maul Rahmatganj
Dhaka, February 15: National striker Emily’s brace and Nigerian forward Sunday Choizoba single stike helped Muktijoaddha to earn a 3-0 victory over Rahmatganj MFS in the Grameenphone Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
With this triumph, the last years runners-up Mukti stepped up to the top of the point table with 9 points from three matches.
Mukti dominated the match from the very beginning and took the lead in the 13th minute. Striker Jahid Hasan Emily headed home on a cross of winger Shakil Ahmed from the left flank (1-0).
Emily scored his second goal in the 40th minute when Defender Ariful’s pass in side the box was deflected by Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba and came on Emily’s way. The national booter placed the ball in the near post (2-0).
Muktis’ lead could have been extended in 47th minute if Mithun’ s head did not hit the crossbar. Rahamatganj goalkeeper Sujon Chowdhury failed to clear a through pass off midfielder Mamunul Islam properly. The ball went to Mithun and the national striker headed but the ball hit the cross pieces.
Sunday completed the rout in the 89th minute scoring the third from pass of Brazilian midfielder Lima (3-0).
