Russell rout Arambagh
Dhaka, February 16: Sheikh Russell tasted their first victory in three matches with a 3-0 win over Arambagh in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
With the win Russell took their tally to five points while Arambagh remained on their previous three from three matches.
Moro Mohammed, the Moroccan midfielder put Sheikh Russell ahead in the 36th minute after Yusuf tapped a Faisal Mahmood corner in front of the Moroccan from the middle of the box, Moro placed the ball in the near post (1-0).
Yusuf, the hardworking midfielder made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute with a delicate touch on a Bukola low cross and the ball beat Bishnu in the far post.
Bukola scored the third in the 55th minute after Anwar sent a long ball from the midfield and Bukola ran from the midfield dribbling pasty his marker to sent the ball into the net (3-0).
Anwar’s shot in the 76th minute was fisted by Bishnu and hit the crosspiece.
Arambagh’s Nigerian forward Elita shot straight to Russell custodian Biplob from a close range in the 88th minute of the match.
